Consulting and Applications

We are able to work with you in many different ways, varying the topic and scope of the undertaking. In all cases we’d need to match the proposed venture against our skills and knowledge, which we’d need to focus on software solutions using quantum computing, optimization and machine learning. If needed we’d suggest to co-opt external team members and/or bring in additional expertise. Will negotiate the fees based on the number of people involved, duration of our engagement, technical and commercial complexity, equipment hire costs (e.g. time on a quantum computer or accelerators), delivery risks, and any other parties that need to be engaged in this process. Here are a few possible scenarios of our joint quantum engagement.

Sample scenarios

Joint research project

Let’s assume that your team already has some grounding in quantum computing (and we are happy to organize more training if needed), we could setup a joint project of several weeks to explore the feasibility and development of a quantum solution prototype (e.g. using Quantum Machine Learning) to a suitable problem from your domain of expertise (e.g. Engineering).

Quantum model development and testing

Let’s assume we are tasked to develop a new quantum optimization framework to solve one of your problems (or you have already developed such an optimization model) using simulators (e.g. in Qiskit or PennyLane). We would undertake to thoroughly test your solution on simulators, accelerators or quantum machines, dealing with simulated or real noise of NISQ machines. We’d determine if the solution is ready for deployment, and if not what needs to be done about this.

Domain specific investigation and reporting

Let’s assume your organization is considering using a quantum software application to support some parts of your business process (e.g. in EV manufacturing). We will undertake a survey of quantum practices in a specific industry segment related to your market (e.g. EV batteries). We will also compile a survey of academic literature of relevance to your business problems, and of quantum methods and techniques likely to have impact on your application development (e.g. QML models). As the sponsor of this investigation, you will have the final report well ahead of the survey participants.

Joint publication

Whatever was our joint quantum journey, we are eager to publish the results on your behalf (hopefully jointly with us). We could target academic quantum journals (such as Quantum Information Processing), practitioners magazines (such as Towards Data Science or Medium), or your industry specific publications (e.g. Quantum Law for Law or Wilmott magazine for FinTech). While we cannot guarantee the scientific publication, we can definitely produce a high quality pre-print version that could be placed in the arXiv or ResearchSquare archive.
